Inori, Tsukasa, and Miku sees Kakeru off after he helps Inori lands her first quadruple salchow, but it leaves Tsukasa wondering how to package the quad into her routine.
The chapter starts off with a flashback to when Jun first adopted Hikaru. He brings her to his skating sessions everyday, and Hikaru is inspired by him to skate. However, Jun tells that she shouldn't skate just because she felt that it's what would make the adults around her happy, and warns Hikaru that the skating he would teach would never bring her happiness.

Tsukasa reunites with his former club mate Kohei Kamogawa. The two coaches find that Miku and Inori had become fast friends, with Miku helping Inori with her homework. A man in a goose costume appears and attempts to gobble up Tsukasa before revealing himself to be Juna Shiratori, TV celebrity and another of Tsukasa's former club mates.
The chapter then returns to the present at the All-Japan Junior's Free Skate, with Hikaru starting her skate. Hikaru starts out by saying that she started skating because she wanted to be like Jun, as she skates in a masculine way. She then suddenly transitions to a feminine style of skating, where she then states that she is now skating as herself instead of hiding behind Jun.

In conversation, Miku confesses to Inori that she'll be quitting skating after the All Japan Novice's due to her home rink shutting down.
Hikaru jumps a Quad Lutz, an incredibly difficult difficult jump that few women have ever done. She then follows it up with a Quad Toe + Triple Toe + Double Toe combo, a Quad Salchow, a Triple Axel, which was meant to be a combo but failed due to an unstable landing, and then a Triple Lutz + Triple Loop. Tsukasa explains to Inori that Hikaru's method of jumping with her arms above her head, "tano jumping", is what enables her jumps.

The three coaches discuss strategies on evaluating the suitability of a jump to be included in a routine. This strengthens Tsukasa's determination to include the quad in Inori's routine.
Hikaru looks at Inori during the skate, trying to convey that she is skating not for the judges but for her. Inori is inspired by Hikaru's skating, and desire to return to skating.

Back at Nagoya, Inori successfully lands a quad at their home rink and in the public's eye for the first time, quickly attracting attention. Word spreads to Jun Yodaka, who has already predicted that she will do that as her only option of beating Hikaru.
