SP 1 (or Chapter 3.1), titled Inori and the brids (いのりと小鳥, Inori to Kotori), is the third chapter in Volume 1 and the first SP chapter.

Synopsis

It tells the story of a 7 year old Inori, who, after being denied skating lessons by her mother, comes to the skating ring to hang out and see if she can go in somehow.

So [[Mamoru]], the receptionist of the skating ring, proposes a deal. If she can get enough worms to feed the birds he keeps at home, he'll let her in.

Inori agrees, and Mamoru also gives her some skating lessons to help her out.

Notable Quotes

When i was little, I'd have these dreams were i was sitting here. To me, being here is part of what being a skater is... so i kept praying to god not to have that dream any longer. Because when I'd wake up, I'd get all sad...
- Inori Yuitsuka

And, Like, Even if nobody called me a genius... I think it'd be nice... if someone at school or whatever just knew... how i was staking everything on this.

When everybody quit all at once... i was thinking about quitting too. But you didn't quit Yuna. The more triplets you landed, the more amazing it was to me... so i worked hard... and i got to liking skating again. So... seeing you try... like so hard, and land the triple Lutz-Triple Loop, I just wish you could have won gold too...
- Mamoru Sekoma

[...] We absolutley needed a gold medal today... to serve as her passport to what lies beyond those impossible walls. It's the only way we'll take the Hikaru Kamisaki
